TCS Welcomes Sustainable Fashion Brand to Leeds Vicar Lane

November2023

We are pleased to announce the opening date for the latest brand set to join our premium Vicar Lane scheme in the heart of Leeds, Trad Collective Ltd.

A unique, sustainable clothing and lifestyle products retailer, Trad Collective Ltd will open on December 10 2023. This exciting addition to the Yorkshire retail landscape promises an enhanced shopping experience and a wider selection of high-quality, second-hand clothing and locally-made lifestyle products from independent brands.

Originally established in Headingley, Trad Collective Ltd has chosen the central location of Vicar Lane to expand its footprint, offering a larger space to showcase its exceptional range of sustainable clothing and lifestyle goods. The retailer’s services include tailoring, mending, alterations, upcycling, and made-to-order clothing, reflecting the company’s commitment to environmentally conscious and ethical fashion.

Jo Wanner, one of the co-founders and directors, expressed her enthusiasm for this new venture:

“We are incredibly excited to open our doors at Vicar Lane. Our aim has always been to make sustainable and stylish choices accessible to everyone, and this new store gives us the opportunity to take that mission to the next level. We look forward to providing a diverse selection of sustainable products, showcasing local artisans and creating a vibrant community of conscious consumers.”

Charles Newman, Associate Director, Estates for Town Centre Securities PLC, is equally excited about this addition to the flagship Vicar Lane scheme:

“We are delighted to welcome Trad Collective Ltd to Vicar Lane. Their unique approach to sustainable fashion aligns with our commitment to provide diverse and innovative offerings to the city’s discerning shoppers. We believe their presence will further enhance the shopping experience at Vicar Lane and contribute positively to the local community.”

Trad Collective Ltd will initially be run by Jo Wanner and her partner, James Fenwick. Jo has a background in fashion design, while James, formerly a physics teacher, has joined the business full-time to support its growth.

The store currently has two employees, with plans to hire one or two part-time staff members after the grand opening.

The new 1,840 sq.ft store operates over two floors of retail space and now offers more room to accommodate a broader range of independent brands and second-hand clothing. To celebrate the opening, Trad Collective Ltd will host an opening party, with further details to be announced.

This latest addition to Vicar Lane, Leeds reinforces the growth of sustainable fashion and the importance of supporting local independent businesses, promoting a more conscious and ethical approach to consumer choices. Trad Collective Ltd’s presence at Vicar Lane is a significant step towards a more sustainable and fashion-forward future.
