Town Centre Car Parks launches innovative new ‘Pay As You Park’ scheme
Town Centre Car Parks (TCCP) is offering arguably the cheapest car parking rates for a multi-storey car park in Leeds.
TCCP has launched an innovative new parking scheme called Pay As You Park (PAYP). People can park for only a penny a minute at the secure, multi-storey car park at Clarence Dock using a unique loyalty card. This means commuters, local residents, shoppers and visitors only pay for the time they are actually parked.
Ben Ziff, Managing Director of Town Centre Car Parks (TCCP) said: “When we saw that some car parks charge £6.60 for 2 hours and £11.00 for 4 hours, we wanted to change the perception of public parking and help the local economy. Commuters, residents, shoppers and visitors can now park for just a penny per minute which equate to only £1.20 for 2 hours or £2.40 for 4 hours. If you’re in Leeds for a typical working day of 9 hours, then you would pay only £5.40. We believe this is the cheapest multi-storey car parking in Leeds".
Ziff continued: “Judging from the feedback from customers, we believe it will be very popular. The PAYP card will allow those on a tight budget to make huge savings and spend more on the necessities. In addition to this offer, we also have two more unbeatable offers over the weekend. Between 8am and 8pm it’s only £1 per hour or alternatively, if customers are in Leeds for more than a day, then from midday on Friday until midday on Monday they can park for only £15 and come and go as they please. We believe that these three offers combined, we offer the best possible prices to cover all short-stay parking needs in Leeds".
The car park is located at Clarence Dock and is next to the Royal Armouries Museum which has free admission to visitors. It is open 24/7 and is permanently manned by TCCP staff.
The car park is also one of the most environmentally friendly car parks in the UK as the Solar Photovoltaic system on the roof enables the car park to produce its own energy.
