The Merrion Centre is an island site comprising almost 1,000,000 sq ft of covered shopping centre, offices, a 1,100 space multi-storey car park and hotel, all in a prime location in Leeds city centre. Major tenants include Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Costa Coffee, Boots, O2 and Leeds City Council.
The Centre is strategically placed among established offices, two universities, colleges, nightlife venues and adjoining retail and leisure areas. The strength and numerous benefits of this location are illustrated in the high footfall figures; the site has the heaviest footfall of any shopping centre in Leeds city centre, with over 200,000 visitors per week, totalling over 11 million per annum.
The site is ideally suited to a wide range of retailers, perfectly accommodating both small and large retailers. Currently, such specialist retailers as Thorntons and KRCS Apple Computers occupy smaller outlets, whilst Morrisons, which extends to 49,000 sq ft, is the only full range supermarket in the centre of Leeds. With its diverse offering of locations all encompassed in one site, the Merrion Centre can deliver retail, leisure and business accommodation to a broad spectrum of requirements.
An extensive refurbishment program is well underway at the Centre in line with its proactive asset management strategy to improve and upgrade the retail offer.
