Eastgate Leeds

Hammerson and Town Centre Securities have outline planning permission to regenerate an 8.5 hectare site named Eastgate Quarters in the centre of Leeds. The landmark development will provide 100,000 m2 of retail and leisure facilities, including two anchor stores, John Lewis and Marks & Spencer, 10 flagship retail units, 130 retail and restaurant units, and around 2,800 parking spaces, the largest shopper car park in Leeds. Central to the proposals is the creation of a new public realm and enhanced linkages with existing city streets. The scheme was masterplanned by Terry Farrell and Leslie Jones Architects. Hammerson has appointed six international architects to advance detailed designs. The Jerde Partnership and Benoy will design the main retail element of the scheme, with Acme Space designing the flagship John Lewis building.
